Domus Recruitment are working closely with our client in Gloucestershire, who are looking for a Head of Estates Operations across the county. You will report into the Associate Director of Estates, Facilities & Medical Equipment.

You will be responsible for the Estates & Facilities across Gloucestershire, and will have 3 direct reports. It is essential that you have conducted at least 6 months employment within the NHS, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities of a Head of Estates Operations:

  • To effectively manage the physical assets of the Trust’s estate ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
  • To monitor the management of the planned maintenance regime for engineering and estates services.
  • To deliver estates compliance within the Trust.
  • To lead the operational development of the Estates function and team, ensuring all statutory and mandatory roles and responsibilities covered (or an action plan in place to deliver) and succession plans developed.
  • Manage the Estates planned and reactive maintenance service.
  • Monitor the performance and quality of the services provided to the Trust by in house resource and external suppliers.

Head of Estates Operations Requirements:

  • Highly developed specialist knowledge to Master’s Degree or equivalent in an Estates related discipline (engineering, building, surveying, architecture).
  • Member of relevant professional institute to Chartered status.
  • Ability to implement change within a challenging and complex environment
  • Knowledge of financial management techniques
  • Significant proven experience at a senior management level within a business environment
  • Experience of estates & facilities management
  • Experience of non-specialist discipline
