This is a salaried position based in an urgent care setting.
The post-holder will provide general medical services in the out of hours period and deal with a wide range of health needs in the urgent care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Main duties of the job
Manage the medical requirements of patients who contact the service.
In accordance with the service rota as agreed, the post-holder will undertake clinical sessions at all bases including face-to-face appointments, telephone advice and visiting patients at home. Required shifts include evenings, weekends, night shifts and bank holidays.
Respond to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate.
Requirements:
- GMC registered
- On GP specialist register
- On NHS national performers list
Essential
- Knowledge of NHS
- Experience of working in the out of hours setting and have an understanding of the unpredictable nature of urgent care.
