Domus have an exciting opportunity for a Supported Living Manager to join a growing provider of care and support for adults with Learning Disabilities.

Based in Leatherhead, Surrey, you will manage a Supported Living service that offers daily assistance for adults with a range of Learning Disabilities, providing person-centered care.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the services meet the values of the organisation, demonstrating leadership values and promoting independence.

Key Responsibilities of a Supported Living Manager:

  • Day to day responsibility for the running of the home for Adults with Learning Disabilities and oversee all activities to ensure the service is run in line with the companies’ Vision, Mission, and Values, whilst ensuring compliance with the Essential Standards for Quality and Safety, as defined in the Health and Social Care Act (2008).
  • Ensure that each person’s care and support is assessed and regularly reviewed to meet their needs, that they are appropriately funded and provided in a way that promotes their rights and responsibilities.
  • Adopt sound business practices including monitoring business performance, working within the designated budget and implementing clear policies and practices in line with workplace legislation and guidelines.
  • Work effectively with the group’s support service departments to ensure that the premises are maintained and operated to a high standard providing a homely, comfortable environment that promotes the well-being, dignity and choice of the people living there.
  • Ensure that the care and support provided is person-centred; adopting the principles of Active Support to enable Life Long Learning for every person living within the home.
  • Work to continuous person development by maintaining qualifications, attending regular update meetings, and undertaking all training relevant to the role and organisational and legislative requirements
  • The recruitment, training, supervision, and appraisal of a team of staff working within the home ensuring that they are fit to support the delivery of the service.
  • Keep and maintain adequate records and undertake effective reporting as required by the Health and Social Care Act (2008), Local Authority Contracts, policies and any other applicable legislation.
  • A requirement to be On Call as part of a rota system with other homes on site.

Supported Living Manager Requirements:

  • You will need to be NVQ/QCF Level 5 qualified in Health & Social Care or equivalent and hold proven experience of managing and leading a team supporting adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities and autism.
  • You must have a Person-Centred Approach to the care and support delivery of the service and experience of reviewing and monitoring service delivery.
  • You will need to be aware and updated with the current legislations and a high level of literacy and numeracy is essential, along with good use of IT systems.
  • Other essential skills include strong leadership and team working, effective communication, people management, budget setting and budget management, delegation, effective liaison with key professionals and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Some experience within the delivery of culturally specific services, change management, managing staff performance, coaching and mentoring Life Long Learning services for adults with Learning Disabilities.
  • A full clean UK driving license, with access to vehicle is desirable.
