Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the national quality function across a large multi-site care operation.
- Ensure that quality standards are consistently maintained and drive continuous improvement across all services.
- Oversee all audits, inspections and governance processes, ensuring actions are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
- Build a culture of accountability, ensuring operational leaders deliver against agreed improvement plans.
- Support branches and regional teams in achieving and sustaining compliance and high performance.
- Provide expert oversight of CQC, CIW and Care Inspectorate standards and regulatory readiness.
- Use data, insight and AI-driven reporting to prioritise focus areas, track progress and identify best practice.
- Lead, coach and develop Quality Business Partners, Service Improvement Managers and wider quality teams.
- Partner collaboratively with operational leadership to improve outcomes rather than operate as a purely internal audit function.
- Present clear and transparent updates to the executive team on quality performance, risks and opportunities.
Requirements Essential:
- Exceptional knowledge of the social care or healthcare sector.
- Strong working knowledge of CQC, CIW and Care Inspectorate frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and drive measurable service improvement.
- Demonstrated success in improving or maintaining regulatory ratings across multi-site services.
- Strategic leadership capability with a hands-on and solutions-focused approach.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
- Ability to lead change in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance quality, compliance and operational performance.
Desirable:
- Experience within domiciliary care, children’s services or complex care.
- Exposure to data-led decision making, AI tools or digital transformation.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional, person-centred care.
- Relevant leadership qualification (Level 5 / degree / equivalent).
