Domus are on the lookout for an experienced Children’s Deputy Manager within the Health and Social Care sector to join a highly reputable provider of children’s health and social care and support in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

This role is within their Children’s Residential Home for younger people with Emotional Behavioural Disorder and Mental Health.

The provider is a National provider with huge opportunity for growth and development within the company. The Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager with the day to day running of a Residential service to provide the best possible care and support for the children at the home.

This is a fantastic opportunity, ideally for someone experienced with management within OFSTED Children’s services, but we will also consider experienced Senior Support Workers from an OFSTED background.

Key Responsibilities of a Deputy Manager:

  • Supporting the manager to run a successful staff team and all day-to-day operations of the home.
  • Supporting the manager in driving quality care and values within a new mobilisation.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of care in relation to the children’s physical, behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Supporting young people to do their favourite things and try new activities at home and outdoor activities.
  • Developing person centred care plans for the young people supported.
  • Team leading and shift leading.
  • Providing high quality care to young people (including personal care).
  • Maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere for young people to thrive.

Key requirements a Deputy Manager must have:

  • Required education – Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma with a Social Care pathway (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children or young adults with EBD and learning disabilities, who may display challenging behaviour.
  • A full UK Driving Licence and Right to Work in the UK.
  • Minimum 2 years or more of experience working as a Senior/Team leader in residential care in a leadership position.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and child protection policies.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Ability to interact with a range of young people.
  • Compassion and dedication to the well-being of young people.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Ability to provide consistency of care and support to the young people.
