I am recruiting for an extraordinary manager with a commitment to high quality support and focus on personalisation to join my client’s team as the Registered Service Manager for their established Kennington Service. You will be joining a fantastic charitable provider and well-established team at a very exciting time as they continue to grow and expand the support, they provide adults with autism and learning disabilities across Oxfordshire.
My clients Kennington service is a supported living development supporting 6 individuals living across three self-contained properties in Kennington. The adults supported in the Kennington service have autism and most have a learning disability as well. This service is specifically designed to support people who have learning disabilities or who are autistic to live and engage in their local community as part of the ‘transforming care agenda.’ As Service Manager you’ll be responsible for the provision of extraordinary and person-centred support that improves the quality of everyday life and the achievement of individual goals, however small or large, each and every day. You will be working in partnership with consultant behaviour analysts and multi-disciplinary team – you will lead, mentor and support your team to implement the support needed to maximise choice, independence and control.
This will include ensuring that support plans are relevant and responding to the needs of the individuals, that partnerships are promoted to support their social and health needs and the team are accessing the right training and development in order to deliver the best possible support. In addition, you will create and maintain an environment that promotes collaborative working and facilitates the use of sound judgment and creative solutions to enable both the people we support and team members to achieve their goals and develop and progress individually.
Registered Manager Requirements:
- QCF Level 5 – Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to undertake.
- Knowledgeable of National policy and best practice for services supporting people with learning disabilities services
- A deep understanding of regulatory standards for supported/residential living
- Up to date knowledge of Health and safety legislation
- Full UK, manual, driving license
- Experience of providing personalised support in a residential or supported living setting.
- Experience of working with people with profound and multiple disabilities and/or sight loss.
- Experience of managing staff to include recruitment, development and performance evaluation and management.
- Experience of budgetary management
